Hello everyone. Happy New Year! After much thought and deliberation, I am finally committed to announcing my retirement. This was, without a doubt, one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. 33 years officially, 1500+ shows! It’s incredible to look back and think: I started playing music with vinyl and a turntable. Too many stories to tell, great music, and a whole lot of fun along the way. I have been blessed to have been able to work doing something I love.
I wanted to take a moment to give a heartfelt thank you to all that have supported me throughout the years. A special thank you to Mark Ashe (MARX Entertainment) for being my mentor and teaching me how to become a true professional in this often uncredited profession. Yes, it is MARX Entertainment I recommend for all incoming inquiries. A truly professional company, with my highest regard.
Thank you to Tony Caliento (ATC Audio) for always making time for my audio needs.
Thank you to the Skole Family (Chez Josef) for promoting my business in the early years and giving me a much needed push from the beginning.
A special thank you to my stepfather Dan and my mother Rose (Myers Video Productions) for their guidance in the early stages of building my business, and for introducing me to the wedding industry and the wedding professionals that would later become associates and personal friends.
Thank you to my family and friends for accepting my late nights, tired Mondays, and my absence from countless weekend events and celebrations.
Finally, a special thank you to my loyal customers for your continued support and praise throughout the years with referrals and 5 star reviews. I would never have been able to maintain a full time operation without you. I will deeply miss all of the good times. I feel so fortunate that you entrusted in me to be a part of the biggest day of your life. As always, I hope I was able to contribute with professionalism, fun, and great music.
I reflect on something I said many years ago, “I will not become one of those old DJs”. I have to laugh and realize I’m a bit late for that, but I will listen to my younger self and call it a wrap.
Thank you again to all for an unforgettable run. -Bob Raina DJ.
